‘The transition means gas will stay key in the whole mix’: Siemens Energy

For Nico Jansen van Rensburg, global LNG head at Siemens Energy’s electrification, automation, and digitalisation (EAD) business, and Anand Sengupta, the company’s compression business’s head of sales, bringing fossil fuels into the energy transition – for example, by using renewable energy to liquefy natural gas – has been an exciting development. However, while existing technology is already delivering on efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions from traditional industries, both would like to see more government support in overcoming the hurdles decarbonisation faces.
